I’m sure you can share my sentiment on this one. Here are the big questions. How many of you are very far behind on your work,
whether it be school or other wise… because of facebook? Well I certainly am! Do you spend an immense amount of time on the site checking out the newly uploaded pictures of your friends? Are you constantly refreshing your status? Do you check into facebook more than eight times for the day? Well if you can answer yes to anyone of these questions, you are suffering from facebook addiction!
Facebook addiction is the most common Internet Addiction Disorder. Internet Addiction Disorders are really becoming a problem. Facebook Addicts shares the symptoms of most psycho-physiological disorders. Facebook Addicts display tolerance, withdrawal symptoms, affective disturbance and interruptions in social relationships.
Would you believe me if I told you that facebook is the first website I usually check for the day and I still check it several times for the day? And as I’m writing this article one of my web browsers is opened on facebook.
I know I’m not alone in my addiction because there are facebook addiction support groups, so they must have sufficient people to form these groups. People have even taken their addiction to work with destructive consequences for some. I know of people who have lost their jobs because of facebook, or more precisely the amount of time they spent on facebook.
Now people if this article mirrors your situation, let me be the one to tell you “you need some help”. You should get a buddy or join a group to get through it, but it is imperative you take some time to deal with your addiction. And yes, I plan to take my own advice. Now, let me check my facebook email.

I read this very interesting article and I have to agree that everything here has been deadly accurate. I find myself being caught up in the addiction as well. If anyone who knows me both personally as well as on facebook they will definitely know how true that statement is. With an excess of 3,500 friends I constantly update as well as pay close attention to my notifications. It began with the purpose of social interaction but now I think of it as more of an invasion. It’s like a craving that can never be satisfied…..One bite into the delicious gossip and attention of facebook and we always want more. Sad to say I suffer from this unhealthy addiction forsaking promises, workloads, duties………I think however it is a situation where mind over matter has to be observed…..Priorities need to be implemented so that in future errors such as these can be avoided. I close my not so brief reply with this statement that People and not Facebook is to be blamed for the addiction.
