Fay-Ann Lyons-Alvarez Takes The Soca Monarch From Her Husband
The daughter of eight-time Soca Monarch, Austin “SuperBlue” Lyons, Fay-Ann Lyons-Alvarez created history on Friday night as she became the first woman ever to capture the Power Soca title. She also claimed the titles of Groovy Soca Monarch and the People’s Choice Award to going home with a grand total of $1.2 million in prizes. She walked away with $1 million for Power Soca, $150,000 for Groovy and $50,000 for the People’s Choice. Her husband came in second in the Power Soca section, earning $250,000 for his efforts.
From the get go Fay-Ann was viewed as one of the favorites to take the bmobile International Soca Monarch title away from her husband with her hit “Meet SuperBlue”. And she did meet the expectations of her fans.
And she did all this while being pregnant with her first child. Lyons-Alvarez is due to deliver next month. However, she is still not aware of the sex of the baby. She stated that “Because of the position of the baby we can’t really tell if it’s a boy or a girl.”
She is an expectant mother, who has proven her critics wrong time and again. She is definitely a force to be reckoned with. She has discredited all the foolish notion of women’s inability to maintain a career and embrace motherhood.

I think Mrs Fay-Ann Lyon-Alvarez is very pretty & i love her performance anywhere i see it. I love her !!!!! She is very dedicated to be performing at 8 months pregnant.That’s super. … no man can mash up she structure … lol !!
